happy new year 2009, everyone who is visiting this blog of mine... nothing much to post, just that i'm busy will all the school admin staff at the beginning of the year, as usual..

anyway, i'm re-posting the "How to type chinese using the PC"... trying to help my new class 5/3 pupils to know how to type chinese at home...

1) go to Start button, then Control Panel
2) then go to Date, time, Language and regional options (on the LEFT column, choose Category View) --> Regional and Language options
3) on top, choose "Languages" --> supplemental language support, tick the 2nd box (install files...)
4) choose "Text services", click "details"
5) at "details", select "Settings" --> "install services" --> add "Chinese PRC"--> keyboard, choose "Chinese Simplified Microsoft Pinyin IME 3.0"
6) go to "Key settings" --> "Preferences"--> "switch between input languages" Left Alt + Shift (don't change)
7) click "apply", then "ok" next, just open a Mword file, try it out...

1) bottom right of screen, click on the box with "EN", "show the language bar", then your language bar will pop out.
2) click on "English(US)" and change to Chinese
3) click on "context menu" and go to "properties"
4) choose "general"
a) input mode ------> Full Pinyin
b) conversion -------> Sentence
c) user function ------> tick BOTH boxes
d) candidate options -----> row style, click "prompt step by step"
